Brant is a trusted public policy advisor and advocate with well over a decade of experience serving financial services companies and investors. His training in the field began as Counsel for the House Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and GSE’s from 2000 to 2002 where he was responsible for managing a variety of different legislative issues including the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, and Sarbanes-Oxley. Excited about the opportunity to build a best-in-class consulting firm, Brant joined Cypress in 2009 after five years running the financial services practice at a large Washington lobbying shop. Brant received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, where he remains active in speaking to students about the intersection of business and public policy. He has also served as a faculty member for the Practising Law Institution on hedge fund regulation and has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox Business to discuss current policy issues. Brant lives in Virginia with his wife, Jane, and their three children.
